On the 21 March 2025 Mr Andre Walsh of Phibsboro, Dublin 7 appeared before Judge Monika Leech in Dublin District Court and pleaded guilty to 11 breaches of the Private Security Services Act.

This followed an investigation by the PSA into the provision of Security Guard services in the Dublin area.  Mr Walsh had been found providing Security Guard services without holding the required PSA licence.

Judge Leech fined the defendant €200 for each count (total of €2,200)  with costs of €3,983.90 also awarded against Mr Walsh on eleven counts of breaches of the Private Security Services Act.

Speaking following the court case, the PSA’s Chief Executive John Phelan welcomed the outcome stating that “it sent out a crucial message to those contemplating working without a PSA licence” and that “we will continue to seek out and prosecute unlicensed operators”.
