What do I need to do if I want my organisation to be listed by the PSA?
From 1st September 2018, all training providers wishing to obtain and maintain PSA approval for the provision of private security courses for PSA licensing purposes must comply with our training provider standard – TP1:2018.
TP1:2018 sets out the requirements which will apply to all training providers approved by the PSA and the conditions that must be followed to obtain and maintain PSA approval. To apply for PSA approval, complete the relevant application form contained in this document and send it to:
Qualifications & Standards Unit,
Private Security Authority,
Davis Street, Tipperary Town,
Co. Tipperary.
E34 PY91
Any queries on this may be sent to [email protected] with “TP1” in the subject line.
NOTE: The PSA will not accept training qualifications for licensing purposes from training providers who do not comply with this document from that date.
What if I offer to submit application forms on behalf of my students?
The PSA has no objections to a training provider submitting an application on behalf of a student, where the express permission of that student has been obtained in writing.
Before advising any student as to what should accompany or be included in an application form, it is advisable that you contact us to ensure that accurate and up-to-date advice is given to the person. Inaccurate or out-of-date advice may result in an incomplete application being submitted and the application being returned in full to the person.
Particular attention should be paid to the checklist on the application form before submitting any documentation. Bear in mind the requirements for full disclosure in relation to the Garda vetting requirements.
