Enforcement Guard Licensing

The licensing of contractors operating in the enforcement guard sector will commence on the 31st March 2023. From this date all contractors providing enforcement guard services and their employees* will require a licence from the Private Security Authority (PSA).

PSA Prosecutes Unlicensed Security Guard

On the 13th March, 2023, Mr. Daniel Smith, Bluebell, Dublin 12 was found guilty at Dublin District Court of one breach of the Private Security Services Act. This followed an investigation by the PSA into the provision of unlicensed security guarding services in counties Dublin, Meath and Wicklow. Mr. Smith had been found providing security guard (static) services without holding the required PSA licence. Judge Anthony Halpin fined the defendant €500 with costs of €4,562.15 also awarded against Mr. Smith.
