On the 28th July 2023, Mr. Sanele Sandile Sacolo, of Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois was found guilty at Navan District Court of one breach of the Private Security Services Act.
This followed an investigation by the PSA into the provision of unlicensed security guarding services at Fairyhouse Racecourse, Co. Meath. Mr. Sacolo had been found providing security guard (static) services without holding the required PSA licence.
Mr. Justice Cormac Dunne fined the defendant €300 with costs of €5,596.98 also awarded against Mr. Sacolo.
Speaking following the court case, the PSA’s Chief Executive Paul Scallan, welcomed the outcome and stated that further prosecutions against others found operating without a licence were being pursued.
